At 23:31 Station 136 (East Pittsburgh), and 113 Engine (Braddock) were alerted to the 500-blk of Center St, East Pittsburgh for a dwelling on fire. Police reported a working fire and 136 Chief requested the 2nd Alarm. This brought 302 Engine (Wilkins #1), 207 Engine (North Braddock), 283 Engine (Turtle Creek), and 153 Truck to the scene. 136 and 113 Engines arrived with heavy fire showing from the main fire building and spreading to the "D" exposure. The bulk of the fire showing from the main fire building was knocked and crews stretched lines into it and the exposure building to extinguish the rest of the fire. 153 Truck vented the roof of the "D" exposure to assist interior crews as other members assisted with other tasks. The "B" exposure was checked with negative results but a dog was removed from the basement of the structure. Early on 303 Truck (Wilkins #3) was also requested for an additional truck company. With the "D' exposure extinguished crews were still attempting to get a handle on the fire in the main building but with a majority of the floor burnt out, a porch collapsed, and fire through the roof crews were mounting a defensive attack. Ladder pipes from 153 and 303 Trucks were used to extinguish the remaining flames. The fire was placed under control in just under 3 hours and 153 equipment returned in just over 4 hours. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating.
